You either need Restart the Mac. - Since the application doesn’t install the Kernel Extension at_all/properly we need to do some under-the-cab work.
- Start the terminal APP from Applications/Accessories
- Prepare and copy the BearExtender driver to the Extensions directory
cd ~/BearExtender - Open Terminal and type ( or copy and paste) those 3 commands:
sudo chmod -R 755 RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext (enter)
sudo chown -R 0:0 RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext (enter)
sudo cp RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext /System/Library/Extensions (enter)
cd /System/Library/Extensions ( enter)
- Clear the kext cache by typing the following 3 commands in Terminal:
sudo chown root:admin / (enter)
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel (enter)
sudo kextcache -system-caches (enter) - Plug the BearExtender to USB and reboot
- Follow the last paragraph of the instructions on hoe to use the Connection Manager of the Bear Extender
(Contained in the opened BearExtender-5.4.dmg) - Happy surfing
